Joyful Joyful #9: Winter Decor Inspiration

It rained here in Southern California this weekend. It was thrilling! I know most of you that live in other parts of the country (or world!) are probably rolling your eyes right now, but rain is a rare treat for us. We all bust out our sweats, turn on our fireplaces and suddenly do not know how to drive. Especially at Christmastime, there is just something so peaceful and magical about the rain. It made me wish I lived where it snows.

Even if you live somewhere like me, where it does not snow and rarely dips below 70 degrees, you can still have a snow themed winter or holiday party. Back in the beginning of November, I saw such a lovely event featured on Style Me Pretty. It was styled by Hatch Creative Studio and is filled with wintery goodness. Here are some of my favorite shots, captured by Karen Mordechai:

I love the use of vintage snowshoes and sleds! And that snowman made out of carnations? Adorable! A little photo station with a homemade snowman cutout like this would be a really fun addition to a holiday party:

  1. I 100% understand about the rain. Here in San Diego, we were bundled up as if it were an actual blizzard outside. It was the perfect weather for snuggling under a cozy blanket and watching a movie, which as you know doesn’t come around all that often. We are hosting a Christmas party this weekend with a sort of Winter Wonderland theme. I love the snowman photo booth idea!
