Joyful Joyful #5: Santa Sufjan and a San Diego Holiday Tradition

Wow. That week got away from me.

I am super super excited right now because we are about to head down to Balboa Park for San Diego’s December Nights. If you are a San Diegan, you must check it out: choirs, international food, lights and, my personal favorite: fresh gingerbread men and hot chocolate. It is tonight and tomorrow, the 4th and 5th. Tonight it starts at 5:00 and ends at 10:00, and tomorrow it runs from noon 10:00. It is free to attend (gingerbread men are not free, unfortunately- actually, probably fortunately for my belly because I would eat far too  many if they were). You can also get free admission to many of the museums from 5:00-9:00 both nights. You can find more details here.

Secondly, we have been enjoying Christmas music all week in our house. My husband wrote a post about one of our favorites, Sufjan Steven’s Christmas collection. I like his post and I really love Sufjan’s quirky takes on old christmas tunes and fun original songs. If you need a little cheer this weekend, I highly recommend check it out.

  1. Joe’s been playing the Sufjan cd since before Thanksgiving! It fills the house with joyful noise and we love it! Have a wonderful holiday season!
